I was just wondering if any of the photographers here use a Canon EOS Rebel XT digital camera because I was looking in to buying one, and if you have one I'd to know how you like it....

I use a Canon EOS 10D (UK Name) which I assume is of the same range. The Canon 350D in UK is called Rebel XT I believe in US.

I can't really fault the 10D. It's the 6MP version fore runner of the 20D.

Anyway, have a look at this review for a full picture.

I have the Canon 350d, which is the english name for the XT rebel, and I am very pleased with it.
I had the 300d (rebel) before, and although the 6 meg pictures were fine,  it had a few facilities locked out, such as mirror lock up, Flash Exposure Compensation and a few other things.
As the only flash I had with this camera was the 420EX,  it needed the camera to provide override, and it frequently under exposed on flash.
The 350 / xt overcomes these and other slight issues, and is faster and lighter. I don't feel the need for any more speed, so chose the 350 over the 20D. I'm happy with the lighter camera, and the savings went towards additional lenses. I also prefer the black look to the silver of the 300 !
The 8 meg images are superb, and allow a little cropping but still suit the more demanding libraries.
I think there may be some who find it a bit small, or who must have a bigger, heavier, more expensive camera, but it feels solid enough to me, - I'm not a news journalist so don't work in an environment where the camera needs to be mega tough, and it seems solid and well made to me.

I've taken over 7,000 shots in about 9 months with it, and so far, so good!

Let me know if you'd like any other info,

I would look at the 350D. Its a nice camera. Small and light and priced right. Almost all the functions of the 20 D (what I use) just diffrent way of using the settings. I also had a 300D (same as Rebel XT). Nice, took about 35 000 images no problem. The 350D is a 8 meg pix camera. The only reason I won't swop my 20D is because i can change the settings very fast under pressure. I will keep the 20D for my wife and get me the new 5D if all goes well in Feb 06. cheesy

There is some sites that pay your more for your images if you use a camera with more pixels. It also give you the option to crop out some of the image without making the image to small to upload.(upload requirements)

Just my little bit of info that i know. Ask the dealer or a friend if you can play around with it, "test drive it" and deside then..

Be Cool
