Hi,
I was thinking about creating a topic and see if you would like to learn a little Icelandic tounge, since I'm from Iceland and I live there I can teach you a few words and sentence, I speak Icelandic but I have to write english here for you to understand me. Smiley
I'm just gonna' check how many want to learn and I'll teach you something, you can also come with words from english or sentence and I can translate them to Icelandic and teach you Wink
Now who wants to learn a new language? Wink

Icelandic is a bit simmilar to Norwegian smiley, but I don't understand much of it. I live near the place where poor Keiko ended his life. I made his official Norwegian website, and got to learn his team who came from Iceland. We had a lot of fun when they talked icelandic  smiley they talked very fast and some misunderstandings occured.

I know that you also have to learn danish at school, so it shouldn't be difficult for you to understand norwegian.

The first permanent settlement in Iceland was established by Vikings for Norway and Celts from the British Isles in 870 AD. The main language of the settlers was Old Norse or the Dansk tunga (Danish tongue).

Clipped from an article here http://www.omniglot.com/writing/icelandic.htm

I guess that the norwegian hilsen (greetings) is something like hilsingur in icelandinc?

Hilsen,
Ann
