Hello Photographers, Customers and visitors,

As you may allready have read in the announcement linked in the startpage, are we taking over MicroStockPhoto from John and we will try our best to get the best out of it.

One of the first improvements will be to transfer the site to a bigger and faster server still under the domain name of www.microstockphoto.com This will help to accommodate the increased traffic expected as the marketing phase of the site begins The site will continue to operate as a royalty free photography site.

*Because of this transfer, we will need to close any login to Microstockphoto website and forum for members and photographers for a few hours. We will announce this on the website of course. and update you on the forum.

Some of the updates that are allready planned and under development will be available some weeks after the transfer:

- New design
- New approval system for both photographers and photo's.
- Increased promotion of Microstockphoto.
- Option for photographers to upload ZIP files which can contain a set of graphical files + screenshot other than JPG files)
- Option to sign up for a Microstockphoto Newsletter for new and existing customers.
And much more.

We are looking forward to working together with all of the photographers and customers and will do our best to help everybody out as good as we can.

Ruben,

Any news about making the site better is obviously welcome and I hope that registered photographers like myself and the designers that buy the photographs will help you make the site into the success that it should be (not taking anything away from John and the previous team who have done a grand job getting the site to this level in such a short space of time).

Because of the change of style and management will all uploaded photographs need to be re-checked again or will you be automatically keeping all of the active content?

Will you be introducing any kind of affiliation programmes or incentives for registered users to introduce new members? I for one will happily put a banner on my website if, and when, you get to thinking about that side of things.

Thanks for the feedback Shane,

John has indeed done a great job in the last 10 month and we hope to continue with this.

We will be moving all content and continue 'like it is' to a new server this week, no need to re-approve all images again.

We will add a new announcement after the removal about the approval process, and will try to 'clean up' in the current photographers database, where we proberbly will delete photographers that have uploaded 0 photo's and /or remove the automatic acceptance of new photographers, to preserve the quality of the website and photo's. meaning that new photographers proberbly will need to upload a set of photo's before being accepted.

The most important part is moving everything to a faster server first, because the current server is too slow and even we get frustrated when just browsing the website.

You affiliation question is something interesting which we will put on our todo list and see what we are going to do about that.

Looking forward to new photo's being uploaded by all photographers and hope to give the best possible support.
